Great Migration period rare, gilded bronze ornamented belt piece, composing of two parts.
The Great Migration Period, is a human migration which occurred within the period of roughly AD 300 – 700 in Europe, marking the transition from Late Antiquity to the Early Middle Ages
The events for which the 5th century is best known for is the Fall of Rome to Germanic tribes, ending the 600-year rule of the Romans in Western Europe. The Roman Empire continued as the Byzantine Empire in the Eastern Mediterranean until 1453. Tens of thousands of people moved around Europe looking for a fresh start with the 6th Century being a time of devolvement and flourishing new societies.
