17th Century Kist
SKU: Kist
17th century Kist
A Kist is what would be presented on the wedding by the bride. Knows as a coffer in south England, a Kist was a more northern English to Scottish word.
The kist would be full of her belongings, it would be a symbol representing her coffin, as she spends the rest of her life with her new husband.
This one unfortunately, has had damage done to it before I saved it from a barn.
